I got her plucked, she has been letting them grow in though.
She does not seem to have a preference towards men or women as long as her head is being scratched she doesn't mind who's doing it, She does have a quirk of when you go to scratch her head she opens her beak, most people think its to bite them, but she's not yet bit anyone she even does it to me and I'm her FAVORITE it's just how she is.
She says Hello, Hello Birdie, and sometimes Night Birdie & Makes kissing sounds, and a sound that sounds like she's saying "aww" She loves Apples and has taken them from everyone in my house including my two children (14 and 17 who have also been known to stand there and scratch her head forever because she wouldn't let them stop lol). she loves green beans, watermelon, noodles, small pieces of whole wheat bread (and or toast) she loves to have her own holdable size peanut butter sandwich on occasions as well. She really has not shown any distaste for any human food that is bird safe.
She does take a bit of time to warm up to people before going to them, And if she's in one of her moods she won't step up if she doesn't want to, It took her 24 hours to come sit with me on my couch - on her own . which any time I sit on the couch next to her cage she will come sit with me, Usually if I don't want her to come over (if I am eating) I will tell her " not right now you have to wait" and she will. She does expect to eat whatever we are eating, she doesn't allow us to eat w/out her, so we always bring something bird friendly for her when we sit down to eat (small piece of Whole wheat bread, a small piece of non salted cracker, Plain Pasta, Corn, green beans, peas, etc). She does pretty good eating good foods - She also likes watermelon, cooked pieces of chicken meat. She is only given bird safe and healthy human foods, she does not get fed any human junk food (this means no chips, no pizza rolls , no donuts, no pudding, etc.)
She goes to sleep between 7 pm and 9 pm(depends on her mood), usually doesn't wake up until around 9 am, She has lived with cats, but is not fond of them (my cat's have grown up around birds so they don't stalk the birds, but she doesn't seem to understand they're not interested in her).
She is on a Seed and Pellet diet, Her seed mix is Vitakraft SunSeed It's the only one I have found that she won't throw a ton of it out, the formula she is on has NO sunflower seeds :D,it is called Vita Prima Parrot and she seems to like all the seeds in this mix, so its best to keep her on it. She eats Zupreem Natural Pellets for Large Hookbills.
You must have large bird experience, Be experienced with birds with "Baggage", and I would prefer people who have owned Cockatoos to be the only people who inquire about her, I will be particular who she goes to, I do not want her to be bounced from house to house, and she's not meant to be a breeder, she is a PET!
Also she doesn't get along well with other birds, she can be in the same room with them, but not housed beside any. She doesn't leave her cage unless it's to sit with us on the couch or if something startles her she will fly off and either land on the couch, a chair or just fly back to her cage, She has never climbed down off it and got into any thing, but if she can reach any wall hangings , and curtains from her cage she'll claim those as hers :) This is the brand and type of seed she will eat she tosses some out but will at least go down and eat them later- where as all other seed mixes I have tried she won't touch what she kicks out which is 90% of the seeds
